Tension Looms Large

Can you ever memorize any incident with the absence of any mix-up? Perhaps not! If you ask me I shall also sing in the same tune, since I cannot remember any such incident. Whether it is the World Up Soccer or Olympics or even International Table Tennis the same saga persists almost everywhere making the organizers spend sleepless nights. Now there are several subjects on whom organizations and also individuals differ and even hold contradictory views, but that in no say should enter into any cacophony followed by aspersions. Well, whatever the good desires may be, on the contrary in most occasions these two very aspects are witnessed between the rival groups being enough to jeopardize the entirety.

The same has also been witnessed in the, alleged, most sensational event of this decade, the IPL or the Indian Premiere League. The rot has set in due to the obstinate stance of the most prominent television channels gathered under a single banner, stated by some close quarters of the concerned industry. What is more they have threatened to carry on their boycotts till their demands are met. This has come just shortly after the IPL has inhibited all tensions over a number of vital issues with the print media.

At this juncture this new defiance has certainly prolonged the climate of uncertainties over the entire event. The disgruntled television channels under the auspices of News Broadcasters Association has protested in the most stringent way citing their grievances over the exclusive use rights given to Sony Network and the refusal of the IPL to have a discussion with various eminent private players over this. The situation has gone out of the frying pan into the fire in regard to the prolific agreement of the IPL with the INS (Indian Newspaper Society) on the media accreditation.

It may be the exclusion of several controversial conditions included hitherto, like the cancellation of media accreditation on failing to upload photographs taken from the IPL website by the newspapers and agencies, has perhaps boosted the television channels to outcry. May be this crisis will also be solved by the astute prudence of the IPL. But tension is certainly looming large on the entire prospect.
